Following its showcase of the kusarigama in Ghost of Yōtei, Sucker Punch Productions has released a new trailer highlighting the yari, the Japanese equivalent of the spear. Atsu is shown besieged on a bridge by some bandits and delivers extensive punishment.
The most basic yet devastating move sees her charging with the yari, stabbing an enemy and pushing them back into the crowd. From there, the blade dismembers and punches holes through others, before she uses it as leverage to kick another back. Atsu then transitions into a jumping slice, the entire force of the yaris weight striking her opponent.
Depending on your positioning, the assisted kick can knock enemies off the bridge and into the drink below. It might not be as fancy as the kusarigama, but the yari is a solid option, especially for those favoring some range to their melee attacks.
With Ghost of Yōtei launching on October 2nd for PS5 and several more weapon types available for Atsu to wield, its safe to assume that well be seeing more in the coming weeks. Stay tuned and head here for Sucker Punchs thoughts on those sticking with a single weapon type.
